Purpose of the Position:

In this role, you will provide administrative coordination and support to the Plant Manager, as well as operations and functional departments at the Canton, New York location.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • You will answers phone, greet customers, and route calls to appropriate staff
  • Create and administer budget plans for plant donations and Corning Foundation community grants. We expect you will assist with data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks to maintain an organized work flow and access to information
  • Ensure adherence to administrative processes, practices and operations so that a consistent standard of support is delivered. Will be the main point of contact for in-coming communication.
  • Acts as an information source on organization policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates events and activities, including plant reviews, engineering reviews, audits, etc. Plan and organize meetings and plant events, including, booking conference rooms or venues, managing schedules and agendas, coordinating catering, room set-up, and overall logistics.
  • We will have you assists in establishing office policies and procedures, and coordinates special projects and department activities.
  • Provide project coordination for annual budget process, client presentations, plant review, to name a few. Implements standard procedures and proposes modifications to improve workflow.
  • Builds report through interactions with managers, supervisors, and hourly employees
  • Responsible for reporting of data contained in the HR systems
  • Provides voice of the customer feedback on processes, policies, and ease of use

 

Projects Involved With:

  • We need you to fulfill the role as the plant’s Trusted Agent and Data Steward, comprising of the generation and oversight of employee personnel records and transactions
  • Audit expenditures; make necessary purchases, process expenses, and allocate charges to appropriate accounts
  • Act as the Local Training Coordinator at the plant, recording training attendance and maintaining compliance
  • Be an active member in various plant teams and projects
  • Update organization charts, maintain accurate headcount list, and track seniority list.
  • Weekly, monthly reporting/status updates on employees and headcount
  • Able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner, quickly prioritize and re-prioritize work streams, and to work across all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical/report creating skills (e.g. the ability to query, run reports, sort data and analyze results)

 

Education & Experience

  • We required a minimum of an Associate’s Degree plus 2 years of experience
  • Prior administrative experience in a professional or manufacturing/plant environment
  • We prefer prior Human Resources, Payroll, or Accounting experience as a plus

 

Required Skills:

  • We need you to have an ability to maintain confidentiality. Process development for repeatable results and sustained improvement
  • Able to initiate and handle multiple tasks and projects as necessary
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

 

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems and work in a team environment
  • Timely and effectively communication as demonstrated through solid verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • We need you to have keen organizational skills
  • Solid customer service mindset with the ability to carry themselves with a high level of professionalism
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, but also comfortable to work as part of the team
