Purpose of Position:

Provide technical leadership to the organization’s engineering efforts in support of development, continuous process improvement, cost reduction, quality, and production improvement efforts while driving for fundamental understanding in all aspects of glass forming processes.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in ceramic, materials or chemical engineering or related field.

• 10+ year’s experience in technical / engineering field w/ track record of process improvement and development successes

• Strong knowledge of engineering problem solving tools, such as: DMAIC, error proofing, scientific method, KT.

•​​​​​ Must understand hypothesis testing, experiment planning and statistical analysis

• Demonstrated technical project leadership skills and experience

• Proven ability to present and communication across all levels of the organization

Key Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Lead projects aimed at achieving manufacturing performance targets for both new and existing

  processes.

• Define process limitations based on current equipment and process capabilities and

   recommend how to eliminate such limitations.

• Lead efforts to gain fundamental understanding on key processes to allow for continuous   

   improvement, yield improvement and cost reduction.

• Coach and mentor newer engineering personnel as appropriate to build and leverage skill sets

   to enhance effectiveness of engineering group.

• Lead and support critical engineering and development projects that also support the plant’s

   goals long term objectives.

The range for this position is $103,603.00 - $142,455.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
