Role Purpose
The Agile Consultant/Scrum Master is responsible for the facilitation and guidance of Corning’s Scrum teams in the Scrum framework and Agile culture in the AI Platform and Products organization.
This role will work with 2-3 Scrum teams in Corning to schedule and facilitate the teams’ Scrum ceremonies, ensure the teams are finding, and implementing, continuous improvement opportunities, work with Scrum teams of multi-disciplinary engineers to ensure the execution of Agile methodologies and definition/execution/monitoring of internal processes and procedures, encourage self-management inside the Scrum teams, and promote Corning’s Agile Culture. A Scrum Master will work with other Scrum Masters to share practices and tips through the Scrum Master community. The Scrum Master will be required to work with team members that are distributed and/or in other regions than their own.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and coaching Scrum team members the Scrum framework and best practices
- Facilitating Scrum ceremonies for 2-3 Scrum teams in the AI Products and Platforms
- Teaching, coaching, and mentoring the Scrum team members in the Corning Agile culture
- Removing any impediments so that the team can continue to move forward
- Ensure the teams are following through with continuous learning and continuous improvement opportunities
- Facilitate the team using servant leadership
- Work with agile teams to ensure Agile blockers are identified and champions improvements to enable a more Agile culture
- Actively participate in the Communities of Practice as they relate to Agile and Scrum
- Support knowledge sharing and best practices globally
- Establish and expand use of Agile mindset and methods across the organization
- Stay current with developments in Agile/Scrum market trends and opportunities
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably a technical degree
- CSM, PSM II, or equivalent certification from an accredited body
- 3+ years in a named Scrum Master role with 2+ teams
- Formal training as a Scrum Master or in facilitation methods with proven success
- 3+ years hands-on experience in the Agile mindset and Agile-based practices
- 5+ years’ experience in IT
- 4+ years’ experience with process improvement techniques
- 2+ years working with Agile in large-scale organizations
- Demonstrated skills in facilitating Scrum ceremonies
- Experience in servant leadership
- Experience with kickstarting new Scrum teams
- Competent in managing and prioritizing a team’s backlog
- Proficient using Microsoft Office, including Teams and Outlook
- Basic understanding of technical, especially software engineering, concepts and terminology
- 3+ years working with Agile tools (Jira, VersionOne, etc.)
- Ability to work in a virtual team which may work across distance, cultures, and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, and may include working with members outside the organization including suppliers, partners, and customers.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- A-CSM, PSM III, or PMI-ACP certification
- 1+ years’ experience in other frameworks or methodologies than Scrum
- Experience participating in Scrum of Scrums
- Delivering training content to a single team
- Coaching Agile teams in Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Experience with Jira, Git, and AgilePlace a plus

The range for this position is $100,214.00 - $137,794.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
