The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

Scope of Position: In this position, you will join a team performing analysis to identify and reduce the threat surface and vulnerabilities in the Corning compute environment. You will be expected to assist in driving these critical projects with the business lines and application owners reducing the threat landscape.
 

Responsibilities:

• Work under supervision and direction of the Threat and Vulnerability Operations Manager and IT Commercial Service line.
• Participate in the vulnerability management lifecycle and assist with the assessment and reporting of vulnerabilities identified in the environment. Including developing guidance for the organization with potential areas of focus for business lines.

• Assist the Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) team with threat intel research, emerging cyber threats, and implementation of new technologies

• Assist researching Research vulnerabilities discovered from the vulnerability management lifecycle, bug bounty program, and penetration tests

• Collaborate using information and knowledge sharing networks and professional relationships to achieve common goals.

• Work with the application security team to identify and prioritize remediation of security flaws and vulnerabilities in source code

 

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of relevant experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science or other related major or equivalent job experience

 

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience remediating vulnerabilities in different operating systems and platforms.
• Strong understanding of Information Security principles and technologies, technical information, and security concepts.

• Ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and self-directed learning, including researching

• Demonstrated conceptual, analytical, and innovative problem-solving and evaluative skills, and an ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, formulate options, and make conclusions.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
