The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

Scope of the Position:

 

The Business Engagement IT Support Technician will provide technical assistance and support for incoming service requests/incidents related to computer systems, software, hardware, and infrastructure both in-person and remotely as required. They will also be responsible for providing divisional support for Mac OS and hardware unique to Optical Communications Marketing systems and demand.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide onsite support to end users, including active directory administration, corporate mobile device support, and support for cloud applications, browsers, printers, hardware, inventory management, etc.
  • Troubleshoot Cisco VPN connectivity
  • Provide remote connection & utilization support
  • Perform imaging and deployment of servers
  • Install and configure various software packages, including security software
  • Work with IPT based Telephony Device Management and ServiceNow (ticket management) 

 

Education Requirements:

 

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant job experience required.

 

Work Experience Required:

 

  • 2+ years’ experience hardware & software installation, troubleshooting and support.
  • 2+ years’ experience with Active Directory administration
  • 2+ years’ experience imaging and working with deployment server(s)
  • Basic smart hands (network configuration) knowledge
  • Ability to work off-hours, providing 24/7 support

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, CompTIA IT Fundamentals, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Cloud+ , CompTIA Mobility+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+)
  • Business engagement experience
  • Experience with ticket management systems such as ServiceNow

 

Travel Requirement:

 

  • Up to 10% to help cover local facilities as needed.

The range for this position is  $56,639.00   -  $77,879.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
