COC P&A is seeking a team member to lead the SAP Finance system team.

The role oversees financial systems resources and provides leadership and direction on projects, system enhancements, process improvements, and issue resolution. Includes identifying issues / find resolutions / test to ensure global implementation of SAP projects and issue resolutions and to assist with financial decisions.

This position will interact with team members throughout the Global COC Finance function, Corning Shared Services, and Corning IT.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as leader and subject matter expert for global COC finance on SAP.
  • Ensures appropriate training of SAP users, development / documentation of SOPs, and seeks to improve operation of the system.
  • Leverages personal knowledge and manages network of other subject matter experts to deliver optimal finance process solutions.
  • Actively partners with IT on management of SAP and other financial systems. Represents needs of finance and works across organization to ensure solutions are delivered.
  • Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge and understanding of SAP FICO application-based solutions with demonstrated proficiency in multiple SAP modules, including designing, implementing and leading significant tracks on medium sized and larger project or leading within the SAP product suite. Demonstrates hands-on experience working within SAP CO-PA and associated modules with a strong background in ERP application development, customizing and operation
  • Demonstrates proven extensive SAP knowledge and support of SAP FICO solutions and improving financial business processes. Keeps apprised of SAP’s roadmap, industry best practices and changes in technologies key to supporting the business needs.
  • Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and success with leading projects and enhancements to current configuration. Designing, building, testing and deploying SAP FICO technical solutions, emphasizing RICEFs (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms) design and development.
  • Coordinates with MDM, EAS, IT, SAP-IT and CSS to maintain chart of accounts, mapping tables, and new BU/OU/Dept/Acct/Product Code/Profit Center requests. Works with Consolidations and Analytical Services to build, maintain, and periodically audit Divisional templates
  • Manages monthly and quarterly closing and reporting for the global COC division – coordinating activities across the COC finance teams, addressing issues that arise, and ensuring execution of a timely close and accurate financials.
  • Leads identification and implementation of process improvements to the closing cycle with the aim to reduce cycle time and improve execution.
  • Partners with CTR and the broader Corning Shared Services team to identify and address issues, transfer work and train CSS on execution, and continuously improve CSS/CTR processes that affect COC.
  • Provides support on M&A integration efforts to ensure smooth incorporation into the COC closing processes. Works directly with M&A integration teams to build and implement reporting plan.
  • As a manager, works as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Act to resolve issues which prevent the team working effectively. Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
  • Performs monthly/quarterly reviews of financial reports and supporting documentation and has oversight for legal entity tasks including account reconciliations.
  • Builds new and monitors/maintains existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for closing, reconciliation/task items and other general departmental accounting tasks
  • May support other ad hoc projects in various leadership or support capacities.
  • May work across multiple divisions to develop best practice processes.

 

Required Skills/ Education/ Experiences:

  • 7 or more years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree: MBA or graduate degree preferred

 

Required Skills:

  • High proficiency in SAP systems management required
  • Strong knowledge of financial, manufacturing, management accounting, and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment; developing and utilizing relationships to drive projects and objectives
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to act under pressure in fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge and experience in other financial systems and tools such as Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point
