Role Purpose

Responsible for the financial health of an organization. Producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research. Guiding senior executives in making sound business decisions in the long and short term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively oversees a multi-geography, or multi-functional accounting and or finance group or business unit.
  • Contributes to strategies and planning for coordinating, administering, and controlling financial operations.
  • Evaluates and helps lead division's accounting functions and ensures alignment to established processes as well as to short- and long-term financial objectives.
  • Monitors effectiveness of financial accounting required to maintain reporting requirements and identifies potential improvements or issues.
  • Leads and oversees compliance activities (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and communicates potential exposures to leadership, with actionable recommendations.
  • Helps provide oversight and is accountable for external compliance engagements (e.g., external auditors, customer onsite visits).
  • Reviews and interprets financial and budgetary reports to identify key insights and recommendations.
  • Manages complex projects and develops strategic, actionable recommendations to enhance Corning's market position and achieve financial objectives.
  • Performs the day-to-day closing operations (e.g., heavy duty, gorilla, advanced optics); provides business support.
  • Partners with business leaders to make key operational business decisions; may engage and influence senior management in areas such as cost and product line management.
  • Manages a team, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes to prioritize and align with overall company and function wide goals and objectives, coach talent, and serves as an organizational resource.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Experience partnering with stakeholders on various business unit issues to consult on and plan key operational business decisions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple financial operations and processes.
  • Track record of developing data-driven recommendations with sizeable impact on business unit financial and or operational performance against metrics.
  • Experience establishing and optimizing reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Extensive experience executing and providing guidance to colleagues on closing operations, resolving issues.
  • Experience engaging with and delivering presentations to senior management (up to MC members), facilitating decisions on key strategic initiatives.
  • Experience serving as point of contact with senior leaders to resolve and advise on ambiguous and unstructured senior management requests, identifying future implications of analysis.
  • Experience providing analytical support to M&A and corporate strategy decisions and due diligence activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage strong networks and relationships with other Finance teams, identifying strategic contacts and resources within the Finance organization.

The range for this position is $158,526.00 - $217,973.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
