The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Corning IT is seeking an exceptional professional with strong leadership skills to join our team as Commercial Data & Analytics Product Owner. You will play a pivotal role in transforming raw data into meaningful intelligence that drives our marketing, e-commerce, sales, service, and pricing strategies. Your primary responsibility will be to collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google BigQuery, Databricks, and Looker Studio. You will develop interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to optimize marketing spend, enhance sales effectiveness, and improve customer & employee engagement.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and deployment of data-driven solutions for a comprehensive Customer 360 view by integrating data from various customer touchpoints, enabling personalized customer experiences and fostering stronger customer relationships by leveraging data science and machine learning technologies to address complex business challenges. You will also focus on capturing metrics to improve employee experience on the Intranet. Your technical expertise in data analytics tools, combined with your strong analytical and communication skills, will be essential in presenting data-driven recommendations to diverse stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Set and execute the commercial data and analytics measurement strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and facilitating the continuous improvement of marketing, e-commerce, sales, service, pricing, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Define and prioritize the data & analytics product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead the strategy and integration of a Customer Data Platform (CDP) to unify customer data across touchpoints, enabling personalized experiences and advanced segmentation.
  • Partner with business and technical teams to define and evolve the data model that supports the end-to-end customer journey, ensuring alignment across marketing, sales, service, pricing, and commerce.
  • Enable seamless data access and interoperability between commercial platforms (Salesforce.com, SAP Commerce Cloud, etc.) and Databricks, leveraging zero-copy architecture to reduce data duplication and improve performance.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships within business digital teams to foster a data-driven culture. 
  • Provide insights and guidance to business functions on data best practices, analytics methodologies, and predictive modeling techniques. 
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Looker Studio and Tableau Cloud to track key performance indicators (KPIs) across marketing, e-commerce, sales, service, and pricing functions.
  • Contribute to the development of a unified customer view (Customer 360) by integrating data from various customer touchpoints.
  • Analyze customer behavior across different channels to identify patterns and opportunities for personalization.
  • Contribute to the definition and capture of key metrics to improve employee experience on the Intranet.
  • Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and/or development team to deliver the product backlog, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features and enhancements.
  • Develop and manage the technical product roadmap, in conjunction with architect & Product Line Manager/Service Owner
  • Serve as the technical lead on projects, overseeing the technical aspects of project delivery, guiding the implementation team, and ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Work closely with agile product delivery teams (internal / external) to set priorities in order to deliver and sustain the end-to-end customer experience
  • Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from various platforms including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, the enterprise data lake in Databricks, Salesforce, SAP Commerce Cloud, Vendavo, Marketo, etc.
  • Monitor the health and performance of commercial analytics platforms and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work closely with marketing, e-commerce, sales, service, and pricing teams to understand their data needs and provide relevant insights.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

 

Education and Experience: 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics) or Marketing with a strong analytical focus.

 

Required Skills 

 

  • Experience working with enterprise data lakes, preferably Databricks.
  • Solid understanding of statistical principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Understanding of employee engagement metrics, marketing principles, e-commerce operations, and sales processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
  • 2+ years of experience as developer/engineer or other relevant experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Effective in translating technical language into business language to bridge the gap between business and technical professionals
  • Solicits advice, support, sponsorship, and commitment to product success across relevant parts of Corning.
  • Embeds with product teams as needed to ensure full transparency, keeping stakeholders up to date on delivery status, product risks and scope changes
  • Is obsessed with product quality, staying deeply immersed in product deliverables and releases to ensure no surprises
  • Strong understanding of application development and deployment processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge and proven experience working with a cross-functional team
  • Must be an independent self-starter and have proven ability to drive results and prioritize work activities.

Desired Skills 

 

  • Proficiency in Google Analytics (GA4 preferred).
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong skills in Google BigQuery and SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Expertise in creating dashboards and reports using Looker Studio.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Marketing Analytics, Business Analytics).
  • Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry or with related data.

 

Travel Requirement

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

The range for this position is $89,003.00 - $122,380.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
