The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
Corning is searching for a Commercial Data and Reporting Specialist to join our team in Charlotte, NC or Corning, NY. In this role you will serve as a bridge between IT Data & Analytics and the business, supporting commercial reporting initiatives and systems. You will manage and continually improve data ingestion, quality, and integrity. You will also focus on setting and evangelizing data modeling and reporting best practices across the organization. The primary objective of this role is to enable the business to deliver actionable insights through advanced reporting and analytics, and deliver continuous improvements in all functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Quality
⦁ Co-own data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
⦁ Audit and monitor data quality, including accuracy, completeness, and classification.
⦁ Develop and implement data correction processes and standards for corrupt data.
⦁ Drive database enhancements and break-fixes in collaboration with IT.
⦁ Manage POS and Non-SAP data cleansing and audit incoming data from channels and other sources
Reporting & Analytics
⦁ Act as a reporting SME, supporting special project teams with business system/process knowledge.
⦁ Determine best practices for reporting tools and solutions
⦁ Collaborate with Business Partners to develop reportable metrics and dashboards to measure data quality and business performance.
⦁ Troubleshoot complex data sets and reports, presenting findings in a summarized format.
⦁ Provide backup support for the reporting team, especially in Microsoft Power BI.
Process Improvement & Governance
⦁ Identify and implement process improvements and data governance techniques.
⦁ Support system enhancements, including requirements documentation, test plans, and change management.
⦁ Collaborate with Leadership, Finance, PLM, Customer Experience, and Distribution Operations to define reporting requirements and reconcile data.
Project & Team Support
⦁ Provide secondary support for program management and project teams.
⦁ Lead or participate in small projects or project sub-teams.
⦁ Support continuous education in data taxonomy and reporting best practices.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field, or equivalent work-related experience.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in commercial-facing roles, data analytics, or reporting.
- 2+ years of experience writing and maintaining SQL based models
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple responsibilities and meeting deadlines.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; familiarity with Power Query, DAX, and M programming languages.
- Ability to learn new reporting solutions and adapt quickly.
- Project management skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working in cross-department teams (Finance, PLM, Customer Experience, HR).
- Ability to manage, analyze, and troubleshoot large data sets (>1 million lines).
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute multiple tasks.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Knowledge of the RESCUE reporting system.
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI toolset.
- Working knowledge Databricks platform
- Six-SIGMA Green Belt certification.
- Experience with Performance Excellence tools.

The range for this position is $75,902.00 - $104,366.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
