Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
As a Summer Intern with the Customer Experience (CEx) Program Management team at Corning Optical Communications, you will gain hands-on experience supporting key projects and initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and project execution. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable exposure to project management, customer operations, and sales enablement processes, while allowing you to contribute directly to the success of Corning’s mission to deliver on its promises to key customers.

Key Responsibilities
During your internship, you will:
- Assist the CEx Program Management team in managing and coordinating project schedules with internal teams such as Customer Care, PLM, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of large-scale projects.
- Support the documentation of project details for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with all Program Specialists to analyze workflows, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and streamline processes within the team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external customers to ensure smooth execution of projects and customer satisfaction.
- Learn about Corning Optical Communications’ product portfolio and support the team in providing product-related insights and recommendations.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
- Be willing to work at the posted job location
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a strong desire to learn and grow.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Familiarity with project management principles or tools (e.g., Salesforce.com, SAP).
- An interest in supply chain, customer operations, sales, or marketing.
- A desire to develop problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
