The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

 

The Data Warehouse & BI Developer will be supporting Corning’s manufacturing environment and be responsible for developing solutions that encompass all phases of the Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence development Lifecycle (Such as gathering requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and support.)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality data warehouse and reporting solutions.
  • Use T-SQL to develop and implement procedures and functions.
  • Review and interpret ongoing business requirements and deliver solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Research, analyze and troubleshoot data, stored procedures, and associated SSRS or PowerBI reports.
  • Work with the DBA team to analyze server health, database performance, existing SQL queries for performance improvements; Suggest new queries or indexes where appropriate. 
  • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
  • Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from various manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in ensuring data warehouse architecture development and utilization.
  • Ensure all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in a version control system.
  • Willing to work hours that are required for global support and/or to meet project timelines.

 

Educational Requirement:

  • BS in Information Technology/Computer Science or IT/Engineering related field

 

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Solutions
  • 5+ years in Microsoft BI Tools such as SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server
  • Experience using Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC Process)
  • Experience in development of Data Warehouse, ETL and End User Facing Reports/Business Intelligence Dashboards (such as PowerBI or Equivalent)

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using Agile project methodologies
  • Experience with Camstar (Manufacturing Execution System)
  • Experience in Manufacturing Factory Floor processes and systems such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Equipment Management Systems (CMMS), Process Control Systems (SPC/OSI PI) and their underlying data model
  • Knowledgeable of industry best practices in DWH, business intelligence approaches and techniques.
  • Experience with relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams Foundation Server (TFS) and/or GitLab for source control
  • Understanding of cubes and complex data/information reporting models
  • Clear understanding of OLTP and OALP systems

 

Location & Travel Requirements:

  • This position can be based in Corning, NY or Charlotte, NC (hybrid or within region)
  • 0-25% travel domestic and international

 

 

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

 

The range for this position is  $104,960.00   -  $144,320.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
