The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

Position Summary

Corning is seeking a Director, HR Technology to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of the global technology solutions that support HR. This role will shape and advance Corning’s HR technology strategy and roadmap while driving execution and operational performance across a portfolio of systems and solutions that enable the HR function.

 

The Director, HR Technology will lead a multidisciplinary team that includes both HR functional configuration and technical team members, with expertise spanning HR processes and systems, integration, architecture, platform support, implementation, and ongoing optimization. This leader will work closely with HR and IT stakeholders to translate HR priorities and end-user needs into scalable, secure, user-centered technology solutions aligned with enterprise priorities.

 

This role is ideal for a leader with a strong HR foundation and deep technical understanding of HR platforms, integrations, support models, and technology governance. The successful candidate will use technology to enhance employee experience, strengthen processes, improve operational efficiency, support decision-making, and drive effective business outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in shaping and advancing Corning’s HR technology strategy and roadmap in partnership with HR leadership, IT and business stakeholders.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary HR technology team that combines HR process & systems expertise with deep technical capabilities in areas such as integration, architecture & platform support .
  • Partner with HR leaders to understand workforce, process, and employee experience needs, and translate those into effective technology solutions.
  • Provide leadership across the full HR technology lifecycle, including design, configuration, implementation, integration, enhancement, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure HR technology solutions are scalable, reliable, secure, compliant, and designed with the end user in mind.
  • Work across HR, IT, and other enterprise teams to support strong architecture, data integrity, system performance, and operational stability.
  • Lead complex technology initiatives, including new implementations, major enhancements, upgrades, and cross-platform integrations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities to improve HR service delivery, decision-making, and employee experience.
  • Establish strong governance across the HR technology portfolio, including prioritization, release management, data privacy, security, and risk management.
  • Play a key role in managing vendor relationships, contracts, budgets, and external partners supporting HR technology delivery.
  • Use data, feedback, and operational insights to identify opportunities for optimization and improved adoption.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team, fostering collaboration across functional and technical disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in HR technology, HR systems, digital HR, or related roles, including leadership of teams and enterprise platforms.
  • Strong background in HR, with the ability to understand HR processes, employee needs, manager needs, and end-to-end business use cases.
  • Strong understanding of technology capabilities and how to evaluate, implement, integrate, support, and optimize HR systems.
  • Experience leading HR technology implementations, enhancements, and operational support in a large, complex, global organization.
  • Ability to lead across both functional and technical teams, creating alignment, accountability, and shared outcomes.
  • Experience partnering effectively across HR, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and change leadership skills.
  • Experience with HR platforms and ecosystems; SuccessFactors experience strongly preferred; Phenom experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy, security, controls, and compliance requirements related to HR technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and technical concepts into clear, practical language.
  • Ability to Travel up to 10%

The range for this position is $182,133.00 - $250,433.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
