Purpose of the Position:

Assist in the development and management of the sector’s view on the Enterprise market, customers, and vendors in the space. Participate in the process to build consensus across organization for Enterprise applications (In-Building Networks and Data Centers). Work closely with all levels of organization and across sales, marketing, PLM, and strategy functions to create detailed understanding. Communicate findings to senior leadership in sector, the corporate Management Committee and select external channels.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage market models based on primary and secondary sources. Model detail to include market size, growth and vendor share down to the customer and project level. Primarily focus on Enterprise customers. Develop detailed thorough understanding of key drivers of growth, customer build plans, architecture design, business model objectives and financial health.
  • Co-manage the Quarterly Market Review to present market view to key Optical Communications stakeholders and SMEs and facilitate discussion to drive agreement on one view for the sector.
  • Work closely with SMEs in marketing, technology, strategy, PLM, and sales to develop knowledge base and stay current on customers and market subtleties. Collaborate with these functions to help inform business decisions and strategies.
  • Create customer segmentation that is consistent with external definitions. Understand key segmentation differences. Track changing dynamics and shifts in company groupings. Explain differences in segment performance, and individual customer performance.
  • Collect and digest all external communications from 3rd parties, Wall Street, customer, and vendor press releases. Develop view on why Corning Enterprise performance is similar to, or different than, other industry views.



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, or data analytics with excellent performance
  • Training in analytics (degree, certification, or prior job experience)


Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations from data
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills (good at telling stories with data)
  • Excel and PowerPoint power user
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful, undeterred
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to create alignment and consensus across functions
  • Ability to develop and navigate relationships at all levels of organization
  • Strong work ethic, responsive, attention to detail
  • 2+ years’ experience in strategy, marketing, business development a plus
  • Enterprise experience a plus
