Position Summary:

The Finance Controller, IT is a finance business partner for the IT organization. This role will report to the Business Division Controller, IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clearly communicate the IT financial results to division, sector and corporate leadership in a manner that enables understanding and drives action where appropriate.
  • Provide actionable decision support for strategy development, contract negotiations, cost reduction actions, capacity expansions and other capital spending.
  • Serve as a bridge between IT and Division (and corporate) finance functions to ensure IT requirements and financial objectives are met; to reinforce alignment between functional and division goals and strategies.
  • Oversees monthly closing activities and reporting
  • Prepares month end reporting and analysis of financial performance
  • Partner with Service Line Executives and Leaders to deliver on financial commitments (Budget, Target, ROI for key investments)
  • Leads monthly forecasting and budgeting
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes primarily focused on reporting and financial analysis.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing annual planning process and delivering on the operating financial commitments in the plan.
  • Experience interpreting financial results to develop and consult on strategic recommendations with business leadership (operating expenses, capital expenditures)
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements that streamline financial accounting processes and strengthen internal controls
  • Experience providing guidance and delivering presentations to senior management making recommendations on key strategic initiatives
  • Strong PC based skills; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good problem-solving capability

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in Apptio, Khalix, Peoplesoft, SAP, Planview, Power BI

Soft Skills:

  • Executive presence – able to communicate concise messaging and actionable analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work proactively and independently in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to persuade and influence others through actionable data/analytics, especially when they have a different view
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills to build relationships with project and department managers, as well as within the finance organization
  • Comfortable challenging status quo/existing processes

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • 12+ year total experience

Travel Requirements:

  • up to 25%
