Role Purpose

This role is the financial leader for OFC’s major projects (Expansions, cost reduction, market and new product launches) supporting the project teams with financial modeling preparation, spend tracking and monitoring in adherence to internal controls including OFC-specific capital policies and procedures. This individual must be a strong business partner, customer focused, results oriented, rigorous, process driven and a team player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial modeling lead, responsible for the financial analysis of OFC’s large projects including but not limited to Belleville Program, Des Sables, Multi Core Fiber, Hollow Core Fiber, Archimedes and other ad-hoc projects
  • Partners with key stakeholders to support execution of Springboard business strategy  
  • Supports project and program manager(s) with all aspects of project costing, forecasting and controls
  • Responsible for tracking project and program capital commitments including regularly communication to business partners and OFC leadership
  • Ensures compliance to align with local regulations, GAAP accounting principles and Corning policies and procedures
  • Ensure all transfers, Interco invoices and capitalizations are done in a timely manner adhering to policy
  • Assists in entity and financial setup in support of local plant finance teams
  • Maintain strong business partnership relationships with groups outside of finance including but not limited to: Capital Management Team, Plant Manufacturing Teams, Division Engineering, Technology and GSM
  • Other functions and projects assigned in support of division and business objectives

Experiences/Education - Required

 

  • Bachelor's degree (4 years) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience; preferable Capital/ Manufacturing/Cost Accounting experience
  • Controller experience (within or outside Corning) desired
  • Deep understanding of financial controls and capital investment modeling including cash flow, NPV, IRR and payback periods
  • Strong financial and accounting background
  • Ability to be comfortable interacting and communicating with all aspects of the business, including senior leadership
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to link to business impact, presentation skills and problem solving capability

The range for this position is $132,649.00 - $182,393.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
