Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position
The responsibility of the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Summer Intern is to learn and apply Supply Chain Management (SCM) best practices and processes to an assigned project within the GSC organization. Projects generally include elements, such as: conducting voice of customer (VOC) internally or externally, performing Gap Analysis, and presenting findings and recommendations of next steps for project sustainment to the functional leadership. Receive on-the-job training on supply chain strategies and processes through work assignments.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- To apply supply chain skills and knowledge to their assigned project or projects. The candidate should be able to utilize and build on solid supply chain fundamentals, business analytics, and project management skills to complete his/her tasks.

Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- Relevant experience a plus.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
