The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Overview: The Commercial IT Digital Strategy manager will be responsible for shaping, implementing and executing the strategies to give Corning Commercial, the next generation of capabilities for competitive advantage.

  • Partner with our key businesses and corporate, to understand emerging customer needs, business goals and objectives and ensure our efforts are adding business and customer value.
  • Brand messaging to our key customers about innovations, developments, services, and support of our critical products
  • Build senior leader and organizational relationships and support for investments


  • Researching and evaluating new digital concepts / solutions
  • Determining if and how these concepts would best fit into the existing portfolio of capabilities and services
  • Developing strategic roadmaps and competitive benchmark assessments
  • Identify or evaluate potential solutions that could support the market offer
  • Facilitating integrated long-term and annual cycles of strategic planning, learning, assessment, and adaptation to guide work across all aspects of the Commercial IT Program
  • Ensuring there is a systematic and aligned strategic approach to execute all Commercial initiatives
  • Establishing a long-term plan for strategy and learning conversations with the businesses
  • Coordinating and integrating annual work plans for all teams to achieve short- to mid-term results over one, three, and five years
  • Developing a short-term and long-term measurement framework and reporting system
  • Identify content and lessons learned from publication, competitors, third party expertise to expand internal thought leadership and influence
  • Contribute to, and in some cases lead, the completion of specific programs and projects.

Education: Requires a BA/BS degree in related field, MBA or equivalent preferred


  • 7-10 years of strong strategy experience, digital product management and development of digital software products
  • Proven performance record in strategy roles, preferably around digital process transformations in Sales, Marketing, PLM and Customer Service Systems.
  • Consulting background preferred
  • Experience on process optimization
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Proven success working in highly matrix environment.
  • Strong bias for action and an ability to deliver results despite the complex and fluid environment.
  • Must have a passion for success.
  • Must demonstrate a proven willingness to go the extra mile, to take on the things that need to be done and maintain a positive attitude that can adapt to change
