Scope of Position: Corning IT is seeking an exceptional professional with strong leadership skills to join our team as an IT Supply Chain Service Owner for IT Supply Chain team. The ideal Service Owner will operate largely independently in meeting defined objectives and goals and will possess deep subject matter expertise in the business and technical architecture of Supply Chain Applications and will be expected to partner with the Business Engagement IT organization to implement technology with strategic alignment to the needs of the Enterprise. The Service Owner will work with SAP Max Attention, Corning Solution Architects, Corning Enterprise Architects, and SAP S4 ERP Product Owner to define a business and application multi-year technology capability roadmap, deployment prioritization, and implementation plans. You will be a key stakeholder to provide project steering and partnership with Business Engagement IT team for a Corning business map.

 

The IT Supply Chain Service Owner will manage and control Supply Chain IT service strategy, to ensure it meets demand and delivers expected business value, within gross IT budget constraints. Partnering with Information Technology leaders as well as corporate and divisional business management, this role will drive the creation of an innovative technology roadmap to enable the Supply Chain organization to meet its strategic, tactical and operational goals.

 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Understand Corning First software for desired supply chain capabilities and collaborate with Global IT Supply Chain Service Owner, SAP S4 ERP Product Owner, Other Service Line Owners, Solution Architects, IT PMO, and Business Engagement IT to recommend the correct solution including directionally accurate cost estimates for business cases and project shaping.
  • Assess and evaluate new market opportunities for the service and associated technologies.
  • Provide project steering to deliver innovative solutions on time and within cost objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate a service strategy and roadmap that includes plans for expansions, modifications, maintenance, retirement, etc.
  • Work with IT and supply chain leadership to participate in establishing the IT roadmap, strategy, and goals.
  • Partner with business leaders, IT Business Engagement Management and Service Line Directors / Managers to develop business cases and prioritize IT investment decisions.
  • Build strong, credible and influential business partnerships to enable and drive change with key stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor service pricing and cost.
  • Align and educate stakeholders on current and planned changes to the service.
  • Monitor service execution to ensure the service is delivered within SLA parameters and Business Partners are satisfied.
  • Serve as an initial point of escalation for significant incidents that interrupt service availability or diminish performance.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork between IT and business teams to ensure creation of “best in class” Technology support for the organization.
  • Manage project portfolio, ensure resourcing, clear scope, plan and outcomes. Provide project oversight by serving on project Steering Committees to ensure projects are being executed properly by resolving problems and removing obstacles.
  • Keep up with current technology and ensure that the business functions are aware of and/or utilizing the most effective technologies that give the Company a competitive advantage.

 

Education/Work Experience Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT management, computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with five years relevant experience
  • 10 years of IT or equivalent business/industry work experience in a relevant subject area.
  • SAP Functional Certifications and/or Experience; especially in ERP is preferred General Required Skills
  • Extensive experience in working on large scale, mission critical ERP deployment projects including SAP S/4 HANA and understanding of the processes supported by SAP best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of general ERP concepts, trends and industry direction
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tier SAP ERP applications architecture and related infrastructure components; including n+1 landscape with multiple ERP instance
  • Exposure to Cloud concepts and delivery of business capability via SaaS model
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with individuals and teams across the company, specifically executives and key stakeholders, utilizing influence, persuasion, leadership, negotiation and group facilitation skills as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Functional experience with a proven track-record of delivering IT solutions
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP Supply Chain systems (such as S/4HANA)
  • Strong communicator and leader with ability to lead teams directly as well as influence outcomes within cross-functional teams
  • Solid project management skills. Demonstrated track record of on time delivery within budget; ability to drive projects to successful conclusion
  • Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
  • Self-starter with ability to coordinate and motivate cross-functional and distributed teams
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

 

Desired Skills:

  • Relevant experience in designing and implementing multiple SAP supply chain projects
  • Experience in SAP migrations where a non-SAP ERP is migrated into SAP
  • Experience with data governance tools such as SAP Information Steward and SAP MDG
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Supply Chain
  • Experience with server architecture and network design
  • IT Industry trend awareness, operational management & strategic direction setting experience will be a plus
  • Executive presentation skills
  • Manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of SAP warehouse management software (IM, WM, and EWM)
  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES)
  • Knowledge of integration technologies like: BizTalk, Informatica, and MuleSoft
