Scope of Position:  Corning IT is seeking an exceptional professional with strong leadership skills to join our team as an IT Supply Chain Service Owner for IT Supply Chain team. The position will mainly support planning services and may expand to include other areas as business requires. The Service Owner will operate largely independently in meeting defined objectives and goals and will possess deep subject matter expertise in the business and technical architecture of Supply Chain Applications and will be expected to partner with the Business Engagement IT organization to implement technology with strategic alignment to the needs of the Enterprise.


The IT Supply Chain Service Owner will manage and control Supply Chain IT service strategy, to ensure it meets demand and delivers expected business value, within gross IT budget constraints. Partnering with Information Technology leaders as well as corporate and divisional business management, this role will drive the creation of an innovative technology roadmap to enable the Supply Chain organization to meet its strategic, tactical, and operational goals.


Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Understand Corning First software for desired supply chain capabilities and collaborate with Global IT Supply Chain Service Owner, Other Service Line Owners, Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, IT PMO, and Business Engagement IT to recommend the correct solution including directionally accurate cost estimates for business cases and project shaping.
  • Assess and evaluate new market opportunities for the service and associated technologies.
  • Provide project steering to deliver innovative solutions on time and within cost objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate a service strategy and roadmap that includes plans for expansions, modifications, maintenance, retirement, etc.
  • Work with IT and supply chain leadership to participate in establishing the IT roadmap, strategy, and goals.
  • Partner with business leaders, IT Business Engagement Management and Service Line Directors / Managers to develop business cases and prioritize IT investment decisions.
  • Build strong, credible, and influential partnerships with IT Business Engagement Managers to enable and drive change with the key business stakeholders.
  • Manage and monitor service pricing and cost.
  • Align and educate stakeholders on current and planned changes to the service.
  • Monitor service execution to ensure the service is delivered within SLA parameters and Business Partners are satisfied.
  • Serve as an initial point of escalation for significant incidents that interrupt service availability or diminish performance.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration and teamwork between IT and business teams to ensure creation of “best in class” Technology support for the organization.
  • Manage project portfolio, ensure resourcing, clear scope, plan and outcomes.
  • Provide service line engagement to ensure projects are being executed properly by resolving problems and removing obstacles.
  • Keep up with current technology and ensure that the business functions are aware of and/or utilizing the most effective technologies that give the Company a competitive advantage.


Education/Work Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in IT management, computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with five years relevant experience
  • 10 years of IT or equivalent business/industry work experience in a relevant subject area.
  • Functional Certifications and/or Experience in end-to-end planning and scheduling systems; SAP preferred


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated track record and deep understanding of financial management, vendor management, contract management, and software licensing.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities
  • Strongly Self-motivated, organized, and guided.
  • Understanding of Cloud concepts and delivery of business capability via SaaS model
  • Strong proficiency in the concepts and processes surrounding SI&OP, Demand Planning, Supply & Inventory Planning, MRP, Production Planning, and Detailed Scheduling
  • Strong knowledge of business processes across supply chain, planning, and scheduling.
  • Extensive knowledge of general ERP and end-to-end planning concepts, trends, and industry trends
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tier applications architecture and related infrastructure components
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Business and IT management on business matters blending technical and non-technical perspectives and discuss complex concepts in simple terms
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with individuals and teams across the company, specifically executives and key stakeholders, utilizing influence, persuasion, leadership, negotiation, and group facilitation skills as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP Supply Chain systems (ECC, APO-SCM, IBP, and  S/4HANA)
  • Understanding of the planning processes supported by SAP best practices
  • Knowledge of CPI-DS integration
  • Knowledge of SAP IAS, Jam/WorkZone and  IBP Co-Pilot


Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of various business data domains (e.g. Sales, Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing)
  • Experience in working on large scale, mission critical deployment projects (SAP a plus).
  • Experience in SAP migrations where a non-SAP ERP is migrated into SAP
  • Knowledge of multi-tier SAP applications architecture and related infrastructure components.
  • Knowledge of integration points between SAP modules and connected systems (ie MES – manufacturing, business planning systems)
  • Knowledge of SAP warehouse management software (IM, WM, and EWM)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES)
  • Knowledge of integration technologies and ETL tools (like Control-M)
  • Knowledge of reporting, dashboards, and analytics concepts and tools
  • Manufacturing knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft Supply Chain
