Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Job Overview
Lead strategic initiatives that optimize our manufacturing supply chain planning infrastructure for fiber and cable. This role will focus on improving efficiency with advanced planning solutions that optimize manufacturing and distribution of fiber optics and cables for both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will combine project manager / network architecture structure skills to design supply chain networks ensuring that it will meet future requirements and provide the level of flexibility to deliver against cost, resilience, service, and sustainability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of advanced planning tools and solutions for optical fiber and cable MAP (market access platform)
- Lead, design and implement next generation tools for optical fiber and cable Advanced Planning and Scheduling (Kinaxis APS) solution. Including:
- Finalize appropriations request
- Build APS team to work in conjunction with IT, MFG to deliver on solutions
- Build network architecture plan to support collaboration with manufacturing to enable real time scheduling shifts that optimize output
- Automate the planning functions with OFC control tower
- AI scenario planning to quickly guide manufacturing with optimum solution paths: Rapid, impact-driven decisions on GM, revenue, cash, and service
- Customer signal visibility across horizontal & vertical layers for execution, capacity planning
- Create and maintain linkages to OCS business unit
- Training and solution rollout
- Optimize SIOP demand processes with SIOP section leads using new APS tools
- Implement automation solutions to streamline operations and minimize costs across the globe
- Leverage data analytics and AI-driven forecasting to optimize inventory and demand planning for fiber optic components
- Ensure manufacturing data such as standard hours, BOMs, routers and TAU are accurate, up to date and have a robust review strategy
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in fiber optics supply chain processes
- Collaborate with key leadership stakeholders in tollgate reviews
- Special projects as defined by SC leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Strong background in process optimization, automation, and industrial engineering principles
- Expertise in supply chain management, network infrastructure, and fiber optic materials
- Knowledge of ERP/MES systems, AI-driven demand forecasting, and logistics software
- Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with automation and AI-driven solutions for fiber optic supply chains
- Familiarity with telecom industry standards and network infrastructure deployment logistics
- Certification in Supply Chain Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Project Management

The range for this position is $157,717.00 - $216,861.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
