Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Job Purpose

The Manager, Digital Marketing leads all aspects of the creation, execution and analysis of the digital marketing strategy to support the organization’s business objectives now and into the future! This position coordinates marketing technology development, website experience, and electronic catalog data accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with key partners (marketing, market development, product line management, customer experience, sales and IT) to connect all the dots between the front-end user experience and the back-office integration of all marketing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a digital marketing technology strategy which supports the division’s business plan and optimizes technology investments. Collaborates with marketing leadership, IT and other partners to define digital objectives and opportunities for competitive advantage.
  • Prioritize planning, development and execution of inbound and outbound digital marketing efforts via Web properties, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), affiliate marketing (programmatic) and mobile channels.
  • Develops and deploys comprehensive digital marketing plans in partnership with Marketing Managers. Aligned to IMPs inclusive of budget, resources, communication plan, media plan, promotion, and lead generation.
  • Coordinates web development, architecture strategy, website governance, and the overall go-to market web strategy.
  • Owns SEM/SEO budget and global process
  • Coordinates product data accuracy for the digital catalog, customer portals and future e-commerce initiatives.
  • Supervises digital intelligence/analytics and provides meaningful insight around SEO and website optimization.
  • Develops and executes a plan for improving digital marketing proficiency across the marketing organization
  • Hires, trains, develops, manages and motivates a staff of employees, freelance contractors, and vendors/agencies to ensure all projects meet business objectives and brand guidelines.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree Required; MBA Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years' relevant marketing experience in a B2B environment ideally with experience in digital marketing or marketing technology passionate about execution
  • 5+ years' SEO/SEM experience
  • Previous experience with A/B and multivariate testing
  • Knowledge of Martech stack (WebDev/CMS, CRM, Marketing Automation, Analytics packages).
  • Familiarity and experience with reporting tools and methodologies
  • Experience optimizing Web sites for branding and demand creation objectives
  • Experience nurturing agency relationships
  • Experience handling a budget with a focus on Return on Investment
  • Ability to optimally coordinate efforts cross-functionally to achieve positive end results
  • Driven to work optimally and collaboratively within teams
