Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

 

Corning Optical Communications is seeking a strategic, highly collaborative Global Internal Communications Manager to lead internal communications. This role is responsible for shaping and implementing a global communications strategy that keeps employees informed, engaged, and connected to business priorities, while helping leaders communicate clearly during periods of growth, change, and transformation.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution — advising senior leaders, translating complex business topics into clear and compelling messaging, and managing high-impact communications across multiple channels, audiences, and geographies. This role is a key partner to the Optical Communications leadership team and will help strengthen employee understanding of the business, reinforce culture, and support organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and execute internal communications strategies aligned with business priorities, organizational goals, and employee engagement needs.
  • Partner with senior leaders to create clear, consistent communications around business strategy, priorities, and organizational updates.
  • Lead executive communications support for key moments such as town halls, leadership messages, organizational announcements, change initiatives, and crisis communications.
  • Create, edit, and distribute engaging content across internal channels, including intranet, email, presentations, leadership messaging, and employee stories.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of internal communications channels and platforms, including editorial planning, content governance, channel optimization, and basic site maintenance.
  • Manage and coach internal communications team support while partnering cross-functionally with HR, business leaders, employee groups, and project teams to deliver audience-specific messaging.
  • Measure communication effectiveness, maintain communications infrastructure and best practices, and support internal meetings, events, and ongoing process improvements.

Experiences/Education - Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field
  • Minimum 7  years’ experience in internal communications, employee communications, executive communications, or a related communications discipline in a large, complex organization
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences, channels, and business contexts
  • Experience developing communications strategies and implementing integrated plans across multiple platforms
  • Experience working directly with senior leaders and providing communications counsel in fast-moving, high-visibility situations
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills, including support for organizational change or transformation communications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital communications platforms such as SharePoint, along with experience in communications analytics, channel optimization, and visual presentation development

The range for this position is $131,318.00 - $180,562.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
