The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Overview/Scope of Position:

 

Corning’s Global Supply Management team provides process benchmarking, standardization, and governance for the logistics and warehousing processes in SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC, & Peoplesoft. In this role, Logistics Process Manager will bring agnostic system and process expertise for transformation projects while translating requirements into technical system solutions.  This person identifies and recommends appropriate system settings and requirements necessary to realize manufacturing, logistics & warehousing excellence. The Logistics Process Manager is also responsible for process ownership, leading and owning change management in the Logistics domain and developing the documentation with best in class practices and recommendations.

 

Purpose and Major Responsibilities of Position:

  • Own and deliver logistics & warehousing subject matter expertise across all ERP platforms (SAP S4 Hana, SAP ECC, & Peoplesoft)
  • Partner with GSM’s E2E Transformation Team to translate business requirements & improvements into operational execution within ERP systems for end users
  • Identify and drive for process improvements across the logistics domain interfacing with manufacturing execution systems. Transforming Corning’s operational execution towards industry best practice while leveraging the ERP platform & capabilities
  • Develop and deliver daily metrics to drive process improvement across the supply chain
  • Document business requirements not met by the platform’s capability.  Assist business process owners to build a process innovation pipeline including in business cases when standards do not meet business requirements
  • Develop and document Logistics & warehousing standard processes including best practices and recommendations
  • Delivery of SME knowhow, training, and troubleshooting with end users while building up of power users in the businesses

 

Personnel Interaction:

  • Division Logistics Manager, operational logistics personnel, GLO / GSM / Division leadership

 

Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in logistics and warehousing.
  • Broad functional and solution-oriented knowledge of Peoplesoft (preferred) and/or SAP S/4 Hana, SAP ECC.
  • Strong influencing, facilitating, and consulting skillset with stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across businesses
  • Ability to travel 25%

 

Preferred

  • Experience in a cross functional global business environment
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Blue Yonder, Oracle, Manhattan Associate, Mercury Gate, Uber Freight, etc.
  • Strong E2E Logistics experience in a global solution development, support, and governance capacity
  • Masters in Business Administration
  • Certifications (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, APICS, etc)

The range for this position is $80,262.00 - $110,360.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
