Corning Incorporated is currently seeking a Manager, Strategic Sourcing, Facility to join our Global Supply Management organization in Charlotte, North Carolina or Corning, New York. This position will be hybrid, 3 days onsite and 2 days offsite.
This role will support projects primarily in North America but at times, may also require support for global projects. Travel is expected to be less than 20%.
With an annual capital budget in the $1.5-$2B range, Corning Incorporated reinvests a significant amount of our revenue back into our businesses.
In this role you will be working closely with Plant & Division Engineers, Capital Project Managers & Teams, Facility Engineers, and Facility Managers across North America. Projects will range from greenfield to brown field ground up construction, facility expansions and renovations, process support systems and process fit up. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in capital construction procurement across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically source capital services and construction.
- Manage a portfolio of capital contracts within the facility capital category.
- Facilitate contract negotiations, draft, and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Evaluate bids and proposals against project specific decision analysis criteria.
- Responsible for $200-300M of annual spend. Projects will range from medium to high complexity.
- Manage internal stakeholder requests and exceed customer expectations.
- Facilitate discussions between internal project teams and suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships for strategic capital suppliers.
- Support the further development of category strategies.
- Negotiate lower costs for the procurement of capital construction and services.
- Deliver on Global Supply Management (GSM) strategies & initiatives.
- Interface with multiple functions across the organization including corporate finance and legal.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: Combined 8+ years of experience in Capital Procurement or Construction Management for projects >$10M.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, or supply chain.
Professional Certifications:
- CPSM or C.P.M. Certification (preferred but not required)
- PMP Certification (preferred but not required)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Project Procurement Management, including planning and strategy development.
- Experience with developing Work Breakdown Structures.
- Leading Pre-bid and Post Award reviews and Decision Analysis.
- Contracts & Contract Administration: Knowledge of various contract types (firm fixed price, lump sum, GMP, turnkey, etc.).
- Experience in Contract Management, including planning, tendering, statements of work, project plans, scope, risk, procurement, quality, schedule, cost, and safety management.
- Leading Capital Projects and Program Teams, understanding business objectives, and fostering open communication and cooperation.
- Understanding different Statements of Work and Supplier Cost Structures, and the ability to analyze and interpret supplier costs.

The range for this position is $96,534.00 - $132,734.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
