The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role Purpose
This role is responsible for the development and execution of Global Supply Management (GSM) strategic sourcing strategies for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) parts, services, and waste management within the Americas region. The Manager will identify and implement cost-effective solutions, foster supplier partnerships, drive value creation, and support both Corning’s GSM goals and sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Development & Execution of Sourcing Strategies:
Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive strategic sourcing strategies for MRO parts, services, and waste management, ensuring alignment with Corning’s business objectives, manufacturing operations, and sustainability goals. - Regional Strategy & Supplier Management:
Develop regional MRO & waste management strategies, select MRO distributors and waste services providers, and manage top-level relationships and negotiations with key suppliers. - Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration:
Interface with Global MRO leaders, Operating Unit (OU) buying groups, and indirect spend leads to drive integration and coordination of strategies across business units and regions. - Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals (Strategic Sourcing Managers, Tactical Coordinators), ensuring high performance, professional development, and achievement of strategic objectives. - Contract Management:
Oversee end-to-end contract management processes—drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and ensuring compliance to mitigate risk and optimize value across MRO and waste services categories. - Savings & Performance Management:
Lead the development, tracking, and achievement of annual savings portfolios, driving process efficiencies and cost savings while supporting inventory reduction and operational excellence. - Project Support:
Lead implementation of global sourcing projects, key strategic initiatives, and support new site expansions, coordinating supplier relationships and project resources across regions. - Continuous Improvement:
Champion initiatives aimed at supplier consolidation, process simplification, cost reduction, waste diversion, sustainability improvement and inventory reduction; facilitate sharing of best practices and innovation across NA locations. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Drive alignment and facilitate decision-making among stakeholders at all organizational levels, advocating for GSM policies, appropriate buying channels, and procurement tool adoption.
Experience / Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or related functions demonstrating a track record of results.
- At least 4+ years of leadership experience, including direct management of people and participation in strategic or transformational initiatives.
- Proven negotiation expertise, especially for complex, multi-site agreements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated influence across cross-functional and matrixed teams.
- Experience with contract management and supplier relationship management.
Experience / Education Desired
- Experience in project management, or engineering related to procurement/supply chain initiatives.
- MRO category management experience (parts, services, waste).
- Experience across multiple businesses, divisions, and/or technologies; exposure to global manufacturing and business operations.
- Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt certification.
- Strong analytical and should-cost analysis skills for supplier negotiations and value creation.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and scalability in procurement.

Less than 5% travel expected.

The range for this position is $129,903.00 - $178,617.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
