Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Market Intelligence Manager will collaborate with Business Intelligence and Field Intelligence Teams to deliver a comprehensive view of the Optical Communications market, chronicle key events, and articulate business implications to Corning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze the impact of new market and competitive developments affecting Corning and deliver the analyses to senior management
  • Lead or support connectivity and PCS competitive intelligence projects on the following topics:

 

    • Strategy and investment assessments
    • Financial performance
    • Capacity quantification
    • Product and calue prop evaluations
    • Cost Modeling

 

  • Maintain and disseminate competitor profiles, and present competitive landscape to PLM and business leaders in advance of business strategy planning
  • Conduct secondary market research to gather relevant information from a variety of sources and integrate into competitive and market intelligence projects

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree Required
  • Previous relevant job experience in market research, competitive + market intelligence
  • Minimum 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in the telecom industry
  • Strong knowledge of Market Intelligence related processes
  • Strong accounting proficiency required
  • Good understanding of optical communications products, target markets as well as competitors’ and customers' landscape
  • Proficient in AI use and prompt development
  • Fluent in English
  • Structured and analytical thinker with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Quick learner; persistent, takes initiative, determined, resilient

Desired Education

  • A master’s degree in business Intelligence or Business Administration is strongly preferred

The range for this position is $126,366.00 - $173,753.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
