Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Job Purpose:

The Product Information Management (PIM) Analyst will provide advanced item creation, support, configuration, and administration of our product information management system and other content syndication systems globally.  The PIM analyst is responsible for the integrity of our data model, product specifications, and overall analysis of related systems acting as both subject matter experts and systems super users.

 

The PIM Analyst will be highly analytical, focused on continuous improvement, able to prioritize projects and requests, and be a strong problem solver with expert attention to detail.  They will work towards customer and business objectives working as a team and cross-functionally with marketing, product line management, customer care, application engineering and IT.  

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with the maintenance and management of product information management (PIM) systems as well as web content management systems (WCMS)
  • Strong software skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Basic experience using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Excellent analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Line Management, Marketing, IT and vendor partners globally
  • Willing to adapt and work efficiently in a fast paced, evolving and deadline driven environment.
  • Well organized, accurate, detail-oriented and customer service focused
  • Self-motivated, team player with the ability to work independently and in a team environment to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate regularly with business stakeholders including marketing and product line management teams to establish and support data collection, maintenance, and syndication of product data.
  • Experience with data modeling
  • Manage creation, assignment, association and definition of all product and category-based product attributes within the Hybris system including parent/child relationships between product variants.
  • Review, standardize, and reconcile product data through research and follow-up with business stakeholders.
  • Assist/lead the onboarding of new product attributes, specifications, and translations from commercialization, acquisition, and individual product requests across global storefronts.
  • Assist with the integration of PIM and other systems for improved processes and efficiencies.
  • Act as Admin and super user for content syndication platforms including the use of ETIM Mapping, FABdis, Metel, and other export formats.
  • Assist in the development of product facets, internal search and external search strategies in conjunction with digital governance.
  • Develop cross-sell up-sell strategies with digital governance team.
  • Using agile processes, gather business requirements, develop user stories, and perform user acceptance testing for enhancements to various systems.
  • Helps develop and implement processes, procedures and plans that will ensure the PIM teams work is accurate and consistent and that all employees in the group are following the same practices and procedures.
  • Maintain training documents and template designs as well as educates staff on processes and requirements.
  • Work with IT developers and vendors developers to troubleshoot Hybris and other systems.

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP Hybris or other Product Information Management system
  • Familiar with Adobe Experience Manager or similar WCMS
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira
  • Experience with Online search strategies and configuration
  • Some Technical background in HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, and basic query skills is a plus
