Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.


Purpose of the Position:
The Global Marketing Programs & Customer Education Team offers industry-leading marketing programs and customer education that provide value to Corning’s distributors, partners and program members to help them maximize their company’s profitability and drive Corning brand loyalty and preference.


The Program Manager, FiberIQ (FIQ) is responsible for positioning Corning Optical Communications as a preferred partner with industry leading training organizations, community colleges, and tech schools gaining mindshare and extend our reach to support workforce development initiatives.


Based on the guidance and direction provided by the Customer Education and Programs Manager, this person will develop the strategy of our FiberIQ (FIQ) Program and manage the relationship with our partners participating in the program. They will be responsible for executing all aspects of the program including analytics/dashboards, partner communication, program changes/improvements, content creation, and activity/event planning/execution.

This passionate, energetic person will collaborate with the broader organization to include market development, engineering services, and the sales organization to define, develop, and execute the FIQ Program marketing plan. 


Reports to:

Global Manager, Customer Education and Programs



  • Program strategy development, execution and maintenance.
  • Actively meet with and source training partners through vocational training centers, community colleges/tech schools, and training centers to achieve curriculum adoption.
  • Partner with training organizations and trainers to force multiply Corning trainings and support certification programs to amplify workforce development and bridge the labor gap.
  • Responsible for executing all aspects of the program including development of analytics/dashboards, partner communication, classroom kits, and co-marketing planning.
  • Build and implement the Train the Trainer strategy and qualification process to include auditing of course delivery.
  • Build and implement a process to identify, qualify and audit trainers across the US to extend Corning’s training reach.
  • Align FIQ Program to establish Corning Optical Communications as a trusted partner.
  • Create and offer marketing tools, sales enablement materials and internal and joint marketing to support program members.
  • Maintain member communication tools including online portal, exclusive webinars, and email campaigns.
  • Build relationships with members to stay connected to opportunities and market dynamics.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Corning Optical Communications’ products and solutions, their applications and value.


Travel Requirements:   ~30%

 Education and Experience:

  • BS/BA education, marketing or equivalent degree
  • Experience with programs marketing, training or education
  • (3) years of experience in related position
