Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Product Line Specialist (PLS) for MiniXtend Cables, NA Product Line is responsible for the day-to-day business management of the Product Line team while assisting with the execution of the 1-year plan strategy objectives and reporting to the Product Line Manager (PLM). This role has a foundational understanding of the customer application, supports new product development, leads cross-functional internal teams, and drives product value proposition development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Market Development to identify and understand new product application opportunities through market and competitive assessments
- Support customer engagements and partner with cross-functional teams to drive business strategy and sales growth
- Work with the PLM and Product Team to execute product lifecycle management strategies
- Support new product development from early-stage justification through commercialization
- Lead product launch activities, including internal commercialization efforts, and external customer or market engagements
- Help resolve product quality and service issues quickly while balancing Corning and customer needs simultaneously
- Support new product plans, including business cases, pricing strategies, marketing materials, value propositions, and RFQs
- Manage forecasts to support product availability, production capacity, and on-time delivery
- Coordinate with Supply Chain and manufacturing to align on customer demand and forecast
- Maintain product data, reports, marketing materials, SAP workflows, launch activities, and product change notifications
- Identify opportunities to reduce complexity, lower costs, and improve sales and operations processes
- Understand the financial and operational (commercial, technical, manufacturing) levers of the product line
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred Engineering and/or Business)
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in product line management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and/or commercial/marketing
- Initiative and drive to identify and solve problems and complete tasks with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated track record of managing projects, priorities, and meeting objectives and deadlines
- Leadership skills to effectively drive cross-functional teams
- Analytical skills to conduct analysis and build data models in Excel or other tools
Desired Experiences
- MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (i.e. extensive experience in business)
- Commercial/customer facing acumen for mapping product line value proposition to customer requirements
- SAP experience strongly preferred

The range for this position is $100,646.00 - $138,388.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
