Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Role Purpose

The FOJ Product Line Manager develops and executes the global field installable connector strategy that supports the achievement of desired product line sales growth and profitability. The PLM leads the product team.

 

Key Responsibilities

Leads a Product Team to:

• Develop market insight through strategic assessments of the Market, Customer, Competitors, and COC Capabilities

• Creates effective Product Line vision, strategy, critical projects, roadmaps, and plans (1 and 5 year)

• Manage financial and market performance of the product line

• Drive action throughout the organization

• Develop and execute an IP and standards strategy

• Manage priorities and constraints

• Develops and communicates product long-term forecasts

• Establishes Product pricing strategies and manages requests below strategy

• Structures Product Specialist and Product Coordinator work within the Product Line

• Develop and supervise Product Specialist and Product Coordinator work

• Manages the P&L, driving teams to support the product line strategy and profitability goals.

Experiences/Education

Required

• Demonstrated track record of managing projects.

• Demonstrated track record of leading multi-functional teams.

• Work experience in a Commercial / PLM function.

• Bachelor’s Degree – General.

• MBA or equivalent demonstrated experience (i.e., extensive experience in business).

 

Desired

• Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Applied Science, or equivalent demonstrated experience.

• Experience managing people.

• Financial analysis and accounting experience.

• Work experience in Manufacturing and/or Development.

• Work experience in a Strategy group.

• International business work experience.

• Participation in, or leadership of, multicultural and/or multi-geographic projects
