Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Overview
Corning's Optical Communications division is seeking a Product Line Manager to lead the global shuffles product line — including modules, panels, and harnesses — within the Data Center Business Unit. This role owns the full product lifecycle, from strategy and go-to-market planning through commercialization, pricing, and financial performance, with direct impact on one of Corning's high-growth global product lines.
Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional Product Teams to develop and execute market-driven product line strategies, including competitive positioning, portfolio roadmaps, and go-to-market plans
- Own the full product lifecycle — new product development, commercialization, pricing strategy, and revenue and profitability performance
- Develop business cases for new products, extensions, and enhancements to secure leadership investment and alignment
- Drive financial performance through product line forecasting, pricing strategy, and capacity planning in collaboration with Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
- Mentor and develop product team members, building team capability and a strong talent pipeline
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business
- 5+ years of experience in product line management, engineering, manufacturing, or commercial/marketing
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-functional projects
- Experience developing product strategies, market roadmaps, and long-range business plans
- Ability to collaborate with Design/Technology and Manufacturing Engineering teams to shape and influence product technical specifications
- Strong analytical skills with a working understanding of financial statements and P&L drivers
- Fluency in English (written and verbal), with the ability to present complex topics clearly to technical, commercial, and executive audiences
Desired Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
- Experience in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and career development
- Background in Commercial, Product Line Management (PLM), or Commercial Technology functions
- Financial analysis and accounting experience
- Experience in the Data Center, fiber, cable, or optical connectivity industry
Travel
- 25 to 50% travel, including international.

The range for this position is $148,181.00 - $203,749.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
