Scope of Position:

The Senior Business Procurement Analyst is an active team member tasked with providing analysis, insights, and consultation in the areas of buying, contract and supplier management, spending, performance metrics reporting, system and process improvements, inventory analysis, and risk monitoring. This position assists with implementing projects related to the Global Supply Management (GSM) process roadmap to increase effectiveness and productivity and support overall initiatives. As the subject matter expert (SME) for procurement, vendor, and contract management systems, you will use analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance GSM processes; and are responsible for assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support procurement operations. This role also supports the training needs within the organization and provides training on all procurement systems as required, assists with power user activities and may lead local power user groups. Technical system understanding aids in the resolution of issues. This role works with the Plant Supply Managers, Strategic Sourcing Manager, Demand and Supply Planning, Supply Chain Project Group, and IT to improve/streamline/standardize processes. This position will include a varying level of project work. Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within the division.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strong relationships with the Plant Supply Managers and Strategic Sourcing Managers to provide system and process support
  • Develop and implement approved business process changes to more effectively utilize different procurement systems
  • As the SME for procurement systems, provide consulting to Plant Supply Managers and buyers
  • Respond to End User/Power User questions in a prompt and service-oriented manner
  • Ensure business and users are using procurement systems and processes wisely and effectively in alignment with the Corning Buying Policy, Buy Smart Requisitioning program and other GSM initiatives
  • Maintain and develop applicable policies processes, and procedures
  • Maintain and scrub large data sets
  • Provide regular and accurate status reports to Business Supply Manager
  • Provide monthly metrics reports
  • Key team member of new system and process solution project, participating in designing, testing, training and deploying of solution
  • Coordinate with IT and/Enhancement teams on system solutions and testing, and assist with troubleshooting and defining requirements and needs for resolution

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 20%, as required

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 40+ hours as required (Monday - Friday (8:00-5:00)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, systems engineering, computer information systems, business, or related fields).

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in related field (procurement, supply chain, data analytics, system analytics, training)

Required Skills:

  • Experience in query tools, data compilation and scrubbing for trend analysis
  • Strong Microsoft applications skills, advanced Excel,
  • Strong PowerBI or analytical tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, culturally sensitive and willing to collaborate across business units and people in different time zones
  • ERP Application knowledge

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma/Performance Excellence - Green Belt certification preferred or other project management certifications
  • Advanced data analytics skills
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft, ARIBA, SAP
