Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position

This position is responsible for the day-to-day business management of the FOJ (Fiber Optic Joining) Product line in USCAN region. Reports to the FOJ Product Line Manager.

Responsibilities:

Essential support to the execution of the product line’s vision, strategy and annual plan in accordance with directorate 5yr plan
•    Work with customers and commercial teams to understand product applications and identify additional revenue opportunities
•    Understand, scrutinize and help drive reduction of PL costs 
•    Assist in managing the product portfolio through all phases of the product lifecycle curve. Support new product development from early-stage justification to commercialization
•    Maintain close alignment with internal partners on strategic growth plans to ensure supply and new products as required
•    Provide key inputs that help define the Vision and Strategy for the product line 
•    Provide support for major RFQ and Pricing events
•    Refine rules for routine day-to-day pricing
•    Communicate product line information both written and orally as directed by PLM
•    Support the completion of the budget planning (Greenbook, Black book, Technology, & iMax)
•    Participate in periodic invention disclosure and intellectual property reviews with legal to determine the strategic objective of each.

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS or BA degree – Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Business, Data Science
  • Fluent in English
  • 3+ years of work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA desired
  • 2-3 years of direct manufacturing experience preferred
  • Greater than 3 years’ experience in Sales/Marketing, product management, technology, manufacturing, or engineering services
  • Strong track record of success


The range for this position is $99,433.00 - $136,721.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
