The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
The Senior Commercial Process Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving cross-functional commercial process excellence throughout the organization. By architecting, improving, and sustaining enterprise-level commercial processes, data flows, and governance frameworks, the specialist ensures that business operations remain efficient and aligned with organizational goals.
This position is responsible for leading medium-to-large scale initiatives, setting and maintaining standards for process design, implementation, and controls. Through strong influence and collaboration, the specialist engages senior stakeholders across multiple functions, including Commercial, PLM, Finance, Customer Operations, IT, and Deal Desk, to foster alignment and adoption of best practices.
Serving as a power user of commercial systems such as SAP, Vendavo, and Hybris, the specialist not only delivers robust solutions but also mentors and guides other specialists. Their expertise ensures that all process improvements and system solutions are both scalable and sustainable, supporting ongoing business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate commercial strategy into capability and process roadmaps, establishing compliance and robust controls.
- Own process mapping standards and develop relevant metrics for commercial initiatives.
- Workstream lead for large complex projects from initial problem framing, through designing, testing, and implementation.
- Create change management plans for successful project delivery.
- Define commercial data standards and implement quality controls to ensure data integrity.
- Shape system requirements.
- Develop and execute plans for new processes and systems.
- Create communication strategies and deliver training programs.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 7+ years in commercial operations, PLM, pricing, process excellence, or ERP/CRM enablement roles.
- Exceptional influence and communication skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SAP, Vendavo, Hybris, or EBS methodologies, including system configuration, developing functional specifications, and end-to-end commercial workflows.
- Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure, consistently delivering results in fast-paced and high-stakes environments.
- Demonstrated capability to work independently, collaborate across functional groups, and interact confidently with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Comprehensive functional expertise in commercial processes, including pricing, quoting, order management, fulfillment, and billing
- Experienced in SAP ECC 6.0 or S/4 Hana order to cash processes.
- Workshop facilitation, executive presentations, and framing decisions for senior leadership
- Experience leading medium-to-large initiatives, including charter development, stakeholder engagement, and benefits realization
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement efforts
- Experience with change management and adoption strategies for new technologies and processes
- Data governance and stewardship to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance
- Strong capability to engage senior stakeholders across Commercial, PLM, Finance, IT, and Customer Operations to align priorities and secure buy-in
- Experience coaching specialists, creating playbooks, and leading sessions focused on system and process improvement
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite; experienced with major IT platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, SFDC).
- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Green or Black Belt Certification is advantageous.
- Project management skills are considered a plus

Work Model & Travel
- 40 hours/week; occasional early/late calls across time zones; periodic travel as required.

The range for this position is $94,186.00 - $129,507.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
