Role Purpose
The Business Development Manager, DCBU is responsible for advancing Corning’s position within the hyperscale data center ecosystem by identifying strategic market opportunities, building targeted customer and partner relationships, and shaping engagement plans that connect customer needs with Corning’s full technical and commercial value proposition. This role develops and executes account and partnership strategies, gathers market and competitive intelligence, and works cross-functionally to create integrated solutions that strengthen customer relationships, enable profitable growth, and support long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify priority hyperscale data center ecosystem targets and develop engagement plans that create new business opportunities.
- Build and strengthen relationships with targeted customers, partners, channels, contractors, OEMs, design firms, and industry associations.
- Develop and execute account, distribution, and partnership strategies that align Corning’s products, services, technical capabilities, and value proposition with customer needs.
- Gather and share market, customer, and competitive intelligence to inform sales, marketing, technical strategy, demand planning, and risk mitigation.
- Stay current on customer requirements, buying factors, and industry trends to identify profitable opportunities for current and next-generation solutions.
- Partner with Pricing, Product Line Management, key account leaders, and other functions to support negotiations, clarify contract terms, and align customer expectations with delivery capabilities.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources—including Applications Engineering, Customer Service, Systems Engineering, Technology, and Sales—to provide seamless customer support with one unified Corning voice.
- Customize customer presentations and marketing materials to reflect customer technical requirements and business priorities.
- Contribute independently to HSDC programs, projects, and account growth goals with limited supervisory direction.
Experiences/Education - Required
- BS or MS degree required, MBA preferred
- 10 plus years of Sales, Business Development, or Market Development experience
- 5 plus years of Data Center Market experience required

The range for this position is $180,198.00 - $247,772.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
