The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. Role Purpose
The Global Inventory Process Owner is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving the end-to-end inventory management processes across the enterprise. This role owns the global inventory process standards, and partner with divisions to develop inventory strategy and ensures consistent execution across divisions to enable enterprise objectives for inventory, while delivering service targets.
Serving as the enterprise-wide SME on inventory management, this leader drives standardization, optimizes inventory performance, and ensures integration with demand planning, supply planning, finance, and operations. The Global Inventory Process Owner acts as a change leader for digital and process transformation in inventory and plays a pivotal role in building a best-in-class inventory process, execution, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Process Ownership & Standardization
- Define, document, and maintain global inventory management processes including SLOB Management, segmentation logic, stocking policies, reorder points, safety stock settings, and replenishment workflows.
- Serve as the global owner of inventory process standards and ensure deployment across divisions via structured governance, training, and audits
- Act as the enterprise SME for inventory planning methods and configuration within ERP and APS systems.
- Provide tools, playbooks, and expert support to help divisions meet enterprise inventory objectives while achieving service and cost targets.
- Collaborate with divisional supply chain and planning leaders to align local inventory strategies with global process standards.
- Partner with divisions to guide the application of inventory best practices and standard inventory management processes.
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Define and monitor global inventory health metrics (e.g., inventory turns, DOH, SLOB, segmentation performance).
- Drive continuous improvement in inventory execution through root cause analysis, cross-divisional benchmarking, and standardized corrective action frameworks.
- Identify and prioritize process gaps or performance risks and deploy targeted improvement initiatives in collaboration with division teams.
Technology & Process Enablement
- Lead global design of inventory process capabilities in ERP and Advanced Planning Systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis).
- Partner with GPO peers within the Integrated Planning COE and IT function to ensure effective deployment of tools, dashboards, and analytics that support inventory decisions and visibility.
- Stay current on external best practices, technologies, and benchmarks to evolve enterprise capabilities.
Training, Change Management & Capability Building
- Own global inventory process training curriculum and certification standards for planners and inventory stakeholders.
- Lead change management efforts for process or system changes, including communications, adoption metrics, and stakeholder alignment.
- Build enterprise-wide understanding of inventory principles through education, community of practice leadership, and expert engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or APICS/CSCP certification preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in supply chain or planning, with deep expertise in inventory management and governance in a global, multi-division environment.
- Expertise in inventory optimization, segmentation, planning parameters, and replenishment logic.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP and APS platforms (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis) and supporting analytics tools
- Proven success in driving cross-functional and cross-organizational process adoption and improvement.
- Global mindset with a strong process orientation and passion for standardization.
- Skilled in influencing without authority and leading in a matrixed, global environment.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills for engaging diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical thinker with structured problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement.

The range for this position is $154,680.00 - $212,685.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
