The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

Our Digital and IT organization is embarking on a transformative journey to embed product management practices that drive customer-centric solutions and agile delivery. We are seeking a visionary Digital Product Manager to lead this initiative and help shape the future of our product management office.

As a Digital Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in introducing and establishing product management within our Digital and IT organization. You will be responsible for setting up a Product Management Office and coaching product groups as they pilot a product framework. Your advocacy for product management practices and your ability to train and coach teams will be essential to our success. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to manage a product, ensuring its alignment with our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish Product Management Office (ProdMO):
    • Lead the creation and development of a Product Management Office to support digital product initiatives.
    • Define the vision, strategy, and objectives of the ProdMO in alignment with the organization's goals.
    • Develop and implement processes, tools, and frameworks to standardize product management practices.
    • Identify and address organizational barriers to product management adoption
  • Coach Product Groups:
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to product groups piloting the product framework.
    • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and regular coaching to build product management capabilities.
    • Monitor progress and provide feedback to ensure successful implementation of the product framework.
  • Advocate for Product Management:
    • Champion the value and benefits of product management across the organization.
    • Communicate the strategic importance of product management to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Create and deliver compelling presentations to gain buy-in and support for product initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Train and Coach:
    • Develop and deliver training programs on product management principles, practices, and tools.
    • Mentor product managers and teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
    • Share best practices and industry trends to enhance the organization's product management capabilities.
  • Product Management:
    • Manage a digital product, ensuring it meets customer needs and aligns with business objectives.
    • Work with our UX team to conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and define product requirements.
    • Collaborate with development teams to prioritize features, manage the product backlog, and ensure timely delivery.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ of relevant professional experience
  • Proven experience in product management, preferably within a digital or IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of product management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive organizational change.
  • Experience in establishing and leading a Product Management Office is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

The range for this position is $176,785.00 - $243,080.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
