The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
The Sr. SAP Commerce Cloud Developer for Commercial IT will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SAP Commerce Cloud solutions to enable our business divisions to sell online. This role will maximize our investments in this key commercial technology to offer our customers every competitive advantage. The developer will interact with product owners, project teams, vendors, architects, and service delivery owners to ensure optimal solutions across the full product lifecycle, including the execution of the strategic roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop SAP Commerce Cloud configurations, customizations, and integrations to support B2B and B2C business requirements
- Build and maintain headless commerce solutions using Spartacus (Angular-based storefront)
- Integrate SAP Commerce Cloud with upstream UI applications and downstream SAP ERP/S4HANA platforms using standard integration platforms such as MuleSoft
- Implement and optimize Apache Solr search functionality and product recommendations
- Develop custom SmartEdit components and Backoffice configurations
- Translate functional requirements into product features and deliver optimal solutions
- Collaborate with architects and product owners to maintain the technology roadmap and evaluate Composable Commerce opportunities
- Work with Project Managers and Scrum Masters to manage expectations with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and work within cross-functional teams
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership
- Identify technical and process improvement opportunities and advocate for their implementation
- Ensure solutions follow cloud-native best practices and security standards
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 6+ years hands-on experience designing and developing B2B and B2C eCommerce applications using SAP Commerce Cloud
- 8+ years experience developing multi-tier enterprise web applications
- Strong proficiency in Java 11+, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework
- Hands-on experience with Spartacus storefront (Angular/TypeScript)
- Experience with SAP Datahub, MuleSoft, and Smart Data Interchange (SDI) for middleware connectivity
- Proficiency with Apache Solr search engine configuration and optimization
- Experience with SAP Commerce Cloud PCaaS (Public Cloud) deployment model
- 4+ years delivering solutions using Agile/Scrum methodology
- Strong foundation in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficient in using cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
Experiences/Education - Desired
- SAP Commerce Cloud certifications (preferred)
- SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP Commerce Cloud certification (preferred)
- Experience with SAP CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and SAP Solution Sales Configurator
- Knowledge of SAP Customer Data Cloud (CDC) for identity management
- Experience with SAP BTP services
- Familiarity with Composable Commerce architecture patterns
- Experience with SmartEdit, Backoffice customization, and Impex
- Knowledge of OCC APIs and headless commerce patterns
- Experience with performance optimization and caching strategies

The range for this position is $106,553.00 - $146,511.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
