Strategic Sourcing Manager

At Corning, we are committed to excellence in Global Supply Management (GSM). As part of our team, you'll lead the development and execution of innovative sourcing strategies that align with business objectives across commercial, supply chain, and manufacturing functions.


Key Responsibilities

As the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will:

  • Develop short- and long-term strategic sourcing plans based on demand forecasts while considering economic trends.
  • Collaborate with business units, buyers, and other stakeholders to prepare competitive bids and proposals.
  • Create detailed specifications, statements of work (SOW), performance terms, and acceptance criteria.
  • Negotiate contracts with major suppliers to maximize value for the organization.
  • Lead supplier relationship management processes for assigned commodities while fostering effective partnerships.
  • Champion compliance with the Global Buying Policy across all operations.
  • Maintain shared objectives and service level agreements (SLAs) within GSM frameworks.

 

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who bring both technical expertise and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have:

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Procurement roles
  • Strong decision-making abilities coupled with negotiation skills
  • Contracting experience including negotiation strategy development
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail

 

Desired Skills & Certifications:

  • Lean/Six Sigma/Performance Excellence training
  • CPSM / APICS certification preferred

The range for this position is $96,534.00 - $132,734.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
