Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Lead the team of CEx Program Specialists, ensuring seamless execution of customer-focused initiatives, timely project delivery, and alignment with both organizational goals and customer expectations. This supervisory role combines program management expertise with leadership responsibilities to foster team development, optimize workflows, and nurture strong relationships with strategic hyperscale datacenter accounts. The individual will act as a trusted advisor and collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional customer experiences, while also driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development:
- Supervise, motivate, and develop the CEx Program Specialists team, ensuring onboarding, training, professional growth, and career development
- Foster team cohesion and effectiveness by building a positive and collaborative work environment
Strategic Program Management:
- Ensure Corning Optical Communications delivers on promises to key Hyperscale Datacenter, Strategic and Global Account customers, meeting project delivery schedules and fulfilling customer expectations
- Collaborate with Customer Operations, Product Line Management (PLM), Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to manage large projects. Provide detailed documentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage project timelines, metrics, and communications to ensure customers experience the highest level of support and satisfaction
- Represent the voice of the customer in initiatives such as system upgrades, process changes, and major customer integrations
Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:
- Actively work to uncover new opportunities within accounts and assist in closing high-profile project business
- Partner with Global Account Managers (GAMs), Sales Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic account goals are achieved
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers to nurture long-term partnerships
- Maintain positive relationships with all internal and external customers, ensuring proactive engagement and responsiveness
Operational Excellence:
- Drive deployment and implementation of optimized process workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness
- Monitor and measure team performance ensuring workload balance and adequate support coverage
- Collaborate across departments, including PLM, Deal Desk, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to coordinate resources and resolve escalations effectively
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong self-motivation and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of Corning products and markets
- Exceptional communication skills (written and oral), including consultative communication and ability to shape customer discussions
- Proficiency in Salesforce, SAP, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint)
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to target, coordinate, and prioritize key customers, projects, and tasks
Desired Experiences
- Experience in Customer Care/Operations, Marketing, PLM, or Sales preferred
- Highly motivated to support and drive sales within a team environment
- Exceptional teaching, training, and motivational skills
- Proven track record in organizational success and project management
- Familiarity with performance excellence methodologies such as Lean and iKaizen
- Willingness and ability to work outside normal working hours when required

The range for this position is $112,402.00 - $154,553.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
