The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Position Purpose:

Supplier Diversity Manager will be responsible for managing the Supplier Diversity Program for Corning Optical Communications (COC). This role will be responsible for partnering with sourcing professionals (e.g., category or commodity managers, strategic sourcing managers, plant procurement managers, buyers, etc.) and other business functions for identification and inclusion of qualified diverse suppliers in our supply chain sourcing needs. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will deliver monitoring and reporting capabilities and assure compliance with all customer and government and regulatory requirements. Will direct the strategy and direction of other internal resources in participating in outreach programs and events in partnership with national advocacy organizations (NMSDC, WBENC, NGLCC, Disability:IN, and other national/global organizations) as well as strategic regional and local advocacy organization partners. This position will build upon the strategy already created within the corporation and look to advocate throughout the organization.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Expertise in developing and implementing supplier diversity sourcing strategies and outreach programs, with a strong background in Procure to Pay (P2P), Source to Pay (S2P), and Category Management
  • Demonstrated ability with data analysis; able to translate data into relevant information sets for decision making and development of tradeoff analysis
  • Aptitude for solving complex problems
  • Thrives presenting and public speaking

 

Desired:

  • Skilled with technologies including SAP and Supplier IO

 

Responsibilities:

  • Works cross functionally with businesses, categories, services and our diverse supplier communities to increase Tier 1 spend; Drive customer reporting across the division
  • Develop internal processes to achieve an increased supplier diversity spend across COC inclusive of identifying opportunities per category and per supplier and embedding supplier diversity in the bidding processes
  • Advises and collaborates with business and corporate Sustainability groups
  • Advises corporate Global Supply Management (GSM) on Tier 2 candidates for the division and aligns with corporate supplier diversity specialist to execute inclusion and on-going Tier 2 program expansion and supplier participation
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for internal COC organization and internal stakeholders
  • Focused efforts to expand Diversity strategy internally to utilize the many GSM and procurement professionals in a multiplicative way for our organization

The range for this position is   $85,353.00   -  $117,361.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
