Job Description:
Supplier Diversity Program Manager will be responsible for leading the strategy and growth of the Supplier Diversity Program for Corning Optical Communications (COC). This role will be responsible for partnering with sourcing professionals (e.g., category or commodity managers, strategic sourcing managers, plant procurement managers, buyers, etc.) and other business functions for identification and inclusion of qualified diverse suppliers in our supply chain sourcing needs. Create and implement diverse supplier development strategies, establish processes around sourcing and contracting with diverse suppliers, and training Global Supply Management (GSM) and other key personnel on supplier diversity and how to execute processes. The Supplier Diversity Program Manager will deliver monitoring and reporting capabilities and assure compliance with all customer and government and regulatory requirements. Will lead the strategy and direction of other internal resources in participating in outreach programs and events in partnership with national advocacy organizations (NMSDC, WBENC, NGLCC, Disability:IN, and other leading national/global organizations) as well as strategic regional and local advocacy organization partners
The Supplier Diversity Manager will work with Corporate GSM to leverage and deploy tools and capabilities and strategic initiatives to advance economic inclusion and supplier diversity performance and impact.
Responsibilities Include the following:
- Works cross functionally with businesses, categories, services and our diverse supplier communities to increase Tier 1 spend.
- Facilitate the COC Supplier Diversity Program Governance or Advisory Councils across multiple disciplines to ensure tradeoffs, decisions, and engagement is achieved throughout COC.
- Serves as an advisor to the business supplier managers, the COC executive sponsors for the program, and other senior leaders on goal development and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Advises and collaborates with business and corporate Sustainability groups.
- Develop internal processes to achieve an increased supplier diversity spend across COC inclusive of identifying opportunities per category and per supplier, and embedding supplier diversity in the bidding processes.
- Advance adoption and utilization of enterprise-wide supplier discovery tool within COC in collaboration with Corporate Supplier Diversity.
- Advises corporate GSM on Tier 2 candidates for the division and aligns with corporate supplier diversity specialist to execute inclusion and on-going Tier 2 program expansion and supplier participation.
- Support internal communications in collaboration with leadership and communications function.
- Develop standard materials for internal and external communications.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal business partners to share best practices and understand and challenge business decisions to support supplier diversity goals and objectives
- Develop and deliver training sessions for internal COC organization and internal stakeholders.
- Focused efforts to expand Diversity strategy internally to utilize the many GSM and procurement professionals in a multiplicative way for our organization.
Education & Experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience in supplier diversity sourcing strategy and supplier diversity outreach, Procure to Pay, S2P, Category Management and SAP.
- Must have proven data analysis experience; able to translate data into required information sets for decision making and development of tradeoff analysis.

The range for this position is $117,409.00 - $161,438.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
