The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

Scope of Position: 

Join Corning Incorporated's Supply Chain Development Program to gain experience through three 8-month job rotations in Integrated Planning, Logistics, and Procurement. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of best practices and processes in Supply Chain Management, preparing participants for future roles within Corning's Supply Chain organization. Key responsibilities include working on Corporate Supply Chain initiatives including strategic sourcing, transportation and logistics, and integrated planning. 

 

The ideal candidate is open to relocation and does not have mobility restrictions.   

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure the assured supply of materials, equipment, and services at competitive costs while minimizing inventories and optimizing materials utilization. 
  • Forecasting analysis and tracking 
  • Develop sourcing strategies, evaluate supply chain options, and manage supplier relationships. 
  • Manage supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise. 
  •  Monitor supplier deliveries to reduce the risk of stockouts. 
  • Develop short term production schedules aligning with demand forecasts and inventory policies  
  • Track overall key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the supply chain 
  • Other procurement, logistics, and planning activities as needed not otherwise identified 

 

Travel Requirements: 

  • Travel as needed, including occasional trips to various Corning sites and vendor locations 

 

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering.    

 

Required Years and Area of Experience: 

  • 1-3 years of related education or internships in business, project management, or technical experience. Experience in a matrix environment or cross-functional team is beneficial.

The range for this position is $60,410.00 - $83,065.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
