The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

Corning is searching for a Teamcenter Solution Architect to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and supporting Teamcenter solutions for Corning globally. You will work with business leaders, users, and IT resources to scope and define, develop, implement, and support standardized solutions. You will also include identifying and implementing best practices regarding solution design, development, implementation, and support of Teamcenter. The position requires good communication skills with IT peers and business professionals who specialize in their support fields. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Teamcenter implementation and continuous improvement projects
  • Act as Teamcenter subject matter expert
  • Design, configure and support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) using the Teamcenter toolset
  • Design, configure and support PLM integration to ERP, CAD, MES and other critical systems
  • Follow Corning standard project management practices
  • Identify new best practices and ensure that solutions are aligned with Manufacturing 4.0 strategies
  • Interact with customers to gather, define, develop, and support complex manufacturing applications and solutions
  • Ensure that Corning follows industry best practices and promotes standardization across divisions and instances
  • Maintain internal customer communication, assuring timely status updates and issue resolution
  • Maintain status of SME on specific area of knowledge by researching and keeping current with new and anticipated technology within their area and related areas of expertise
  • Produce technical documentation for new and existing applications as well as training and support documentation
  • Assist in the data migration from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Provide support and troubleshooting of IT systems and data interfaces

Experiences/Education - Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant curriculum required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
    • 3-6 years of experience with Teamcenter and Active Workspace
    • 3 years of experience with CAD integrations
    • Experience in Teamcenter integration with ERP, MES or other enterprise applications
    • 3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
    • Understanding of object-oriented programming (ITK, C++)
    • Experience with GitLab
    • Project Management experience
    • Time Management and Organizational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks – ability to provide accurate estimates for time and effort required to complete tasks
    • Flexibility - Able to change and adjust smoothly as the situation demands
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Problem-solving skills

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively gather requirements from customers and present information
  • Agile certified Scrum Master preferred
  • Kaizen experience preferred.

The range for this position is $108,010.00 - $148,514.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
