Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position:
Meaningful role where you are responsible for the implementation and optimization of vendor management activities and support required for the delivery of services to our business partners (internal and external), from vendor identification through delivery of services.

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the data maintenance of vendor programs and projects in accordance with Coring policies, procedures and supplier’s contracts in conjunction with GSM.  
  • Evaluates and improves overall vendor management processes and systems  
  • Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of organizational systems, procedures, reports and forms necessary to maintain uniform and accurate records, facilitate order to cash cycle and maintains quality requirements on a consistent basis.  
  • Create services supplier qualification documents in conjunction with GSM  
  • Build, implement, and monitor annual vendor auditing process  
  • Partners with Supply Chain, PLM, Sales, Engineering, and PMO to ensure service vendors are engaged to exceed business objectives  
  • Dedicated to managing Project Services Vendor Eco system for Engineering, Installation and various project support items.  
  • Lead the vendor pricing and associated processes with Corporate Supply chain on RFP/Q.  
  • Provide leadership, management and governance on services companies’ data management systems to include templates, Proposals, SOWs and Pricing.  
  • Direct the support processes with Finance on SAP and associated financial tracking, updates, and statuses.  
  • Support Services business units through Governance of associated Project Data systems such as SAP, and Procore  
  • Develops short-term vendor management plans consistent with long-term objectives  
  • Contribute on cross-functional project teams to drive and deliver goals  
  • Preparation of vendor services forecasts that includes analysis of customer demand and impact on vendor service suppliers with an emphasis on potential constraints.  
  • Strive to accurately track and report on Key Performance Indicators  
  • Build and keep up to date the supplier manual, supplier scorecards, and supplier data within SAP

Experiences/Education:
Required:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering or related field  
  • Minimum 5 years materials management/supply chain experience in a purchasing organization preferably in a multi-plant, multi-unit business  
  • Self-starter who has experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams

Desired:  

  • Familiarity with managing construction companies, or outside plant/in building network installers.  
  • Experience as part of ERP Implementation team  
  • Master’s in Business or Supply Chain Management  
  • Certified Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)
