Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Major Responsibilities / Ongoing Tasks
- Issue the control system standard operation procedure, maintenance strategy and master plan, ensure the facility control program, software and hardware with stability and high-quality situation.
- Establish and update control system SOS/Base Case/PM/ER SOP as needed and insure all SOP performed by technicians.
- Ensure control system drawings are archived properly within the plant and meet the PCPD requirement.
- Technical support for trouble shooting of facility SCADA, PLC and other plant control system provide the quick response and long-term solution.
- Lead control system retrofit and improvement (Review SOW, Participated to FAT & SAT, Manage vendors, Communicate with Corporate division if necessary)
- Study new control system technology from corporate division and exterior, migrate them to facility system, improve the system stability and digital. Learn from sharing with sister plant.
- Give the control system, gauges training for facility technician and related engineer by annual.
- Build up the plant energy management platform, include the measurement system, carbon emission, energy consumption assessment and so on.
- Manage control system technical skill of power resources
(Training planning/tracking/evaluation)
- Analyze budget for Plant control power system PM and track execution (inc. prioritize)

- Backup facility power engineer
- Support regular plant power system external diagnosis and internal assessment
- Support to establish standard for power system maintenance & operation
- Support trouble shooting of facility power system and provide quick response and solutions
- Support power system retrofit and improvement.(review SOW, Participate to FAT & SAT, Manage vendors, Communicate with division if necessary)
- Support power system training for Lev1/2 facility technician
- Job Specifications – Qualifications
- Education Level Required (Degree and Discipline)
- Bachelor’s degree or above in automation/electrical engineering
- Experience (Type and Amount)
- More than 5 Years working with facility control field devices, HMI, and controls platforms
- More than 3 Years working with power system field
- Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Process problem solving
- iDMAiC
- PM methodology
- Skills (Computer skill, project management skill…..etc)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc)
- AutoCAD related
- PLC Programming
- English language skills (Intermediate or higher level both written and oral)
- Project Management and Organization
- Strong Team Working skills including working well with other area (process, utility) and providing/receiving direction
- Ability (Ability to advance innovation, flexibility, detail oriented……etc.):
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
