Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Execute operating plan to achieve team objectives.
• Conduct day to day patrol and standard operating setpoint/base case compliance with procedures.
• To be emergency response member to react Facility emergency response in case of system failure
• Build effective relations with plant support groups.
• Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes(Follow Process Control and Process Discipline).
• Executes documented operating procedures and follows established document control protocols.
• Executes the protection of Corning’s Intellectual Asset Property (IAP).
• Implement training and certification plans.
• Implement preventive Maintenance/predictive maintenance activities to achieve Facility maintenance performance.
• Initiate improvement case by plant side activity
Education & Experience
• College (Engineering or Technical)
Required Skills
• Understand the Facility system basic structure, such as HVAC, Water system, power system…etc.
• Knowledgeable of Safety, Health, and Environment core responsibilities
• Understand what’s SOP and execute Operation works according to SOP.
• Understand what’s SOS and Conduct System SOS and site patrol and can recognize the risks.
• Have 1st level emergency response capability, ex, pump failure, small breaker trip,
• Basic system operating, such as equipment switchover…etc.
• Experienced shift works and understand the work contents.
• Experienced with human-machine interface (iFix or SCADA), operation panel, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of the major plant systems, and major components’ functions.(CDA, Chilling, Boiler, HVAC…etc.)
• Knowledge of basic troubleshooting skill, such as circuit short verification, resistance measurement, etc.
• Good computer skills, such as office Excel, Word, Power Point.
• Understand how to adapt and adjust when changes occur in the process of factory systems
• Understanding Unit Conversion (ex. Kg/cm2 --> psi)
Desired Skills
• 1st level maintenance works knowledge, such as lubrication, filter replacement,…skills
• Understand the system operating parameter, link Clean room operations parameter, cooling tower…etc.
• Has 1st level troubleshooting skill, such as MCC panel, pump, motor troubleshooting skill.
• Knowledge with Basic Facility equipment and element, such as regulator, valve type, check valve, Pump, Fan, etc.
• Have a slight understanding of electrical knowledge such as voltage, current, measurement Basic Skill
• Understand the basic design functions of the Facility system.
• Learn about the maintenance strategy categories for Facility systems
• Understanding the basic functions of the rotating device / valves (ex. Pump, fan)
• Understand the process and process functions of the Facility system
• Knowledge of how a HVAC works, how the refrigeration cycle works, and how it is maintained and managed.
• Knowledge of how process water treatment and waste water treatment and chemical dosing works in a Facility.
