The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.
HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable. Role Purpose
Ensures plant has the appropriate talent required to execute plant strategy and achieve desired business results. Ensures plant establishes and maintains a positive work environment and operates in support of Corning’s Values. Provides HR leadership to support successful implementation of global HR business processes. Ensures plant compliance with HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines. Manages all aspects of plant employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee deployment of HR and employee relations programs and policies across the site, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance with all laws and site collective bargaining agreements.
- Develop and execute talent acquisition, people movement, and recruiting strategies in partnership with HR and operations leaders; manage selection, hiring, onboarding, and affirmative action plans.
- Drive employee safety, health, and environmental compliance; implement and monitor risk management policies and training programs.
- Partner with Division HR and plant leadership to create and promote compelling employee value propositions for recruiting and retention.
- Ensure effective delivery and adoption of HR shared services and standardized HR programs, while tailoring support to plant-specific business needs.
- Coach and support plant management in implementing programs and practices that foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Serve as HR Business Partner, supporting compensation, engagement, learning and development, compliance, analytics, performance management, and staffing for all manufacturing teams.
- Maintain visible presence on the plant floor to monitor organizational health, address employee concerns, and build strong working relationships with staff at all levels.
- Manage contingent workforce staffing and collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development teams to ensure effective onboarding and training experiences.
- Provide strategic guidance, analytics, and coaching to leaders to support sound talent decisions, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, Labor Relations, or a related field required; Master’s degree or HR certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible HR management experience, preferably supporting both union and nonunion environments and a diverse range of client groups.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing HR strategy.
- Proven ability to take full ownership of HR management for a manufacturing plant and serve as an integral member of the plant leadership team.
- Experience working as an HR Business Partner with increasing scope and responsibility, ideally within a matrixed and manufacturing environment.
- Expertise in team facilitation, performance management, employee relations, workforce planning, compensation, and organizational development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and consult employees at all organizational levels.
- Experience with root cause analysis and the ability to connect decisions to broader business objectives.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, with adaptability and resilience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams as well as independently manage responsibilities.
- High level of professional integrity and confidentiality, with strong attention to detail.

The range for this position is $124,078.00 - $170,608.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
