Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Overview:
Seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. This role will focus on expanding our business relationships with Charter and Comcast. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the MSO industry, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in fostering partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to strengthen our relationship with Charter and Comcast.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Market Development, Product Development, etc) to align strategies and achieve mutual objectives as it relates to the end customers, Charter, and Comcast.
- Develops and executes account and distribution program plans that provide the customer(s) with a fully integrated set of product, process, service, and technical solutions which draw on Corning’s total value proposition to meet specific business needs.
- Stays informed of customer requirements and key buying factors and uses this knowledge to pursue profitable selling opportunities for current or next generation products and to modify account plans as needed.
- Collects sales information within the account to inform short-term and long-term sales forecasting (i.e., sales budget and 5-year plan) at the account and division level and inform inventory management efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management preferably within the MSO market.
- Strong understanding of Comcast and Charters business operations, market dynamics and competitive landscape.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentations skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
- Existing network and relationships withing Comcast and Charter would be highly advantageous
The range for this position is $89,336.00 - $122,837.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
