Job Scope and Responsibilities:

Individual contributor of Corning Global Logistics Organization (GLO) to lead global logistics optimization projects to improve QCD - Quality, Cost and Delivery.

SME of logistics tools including Transportation Management System (TMS)/ GT Nexus, Supply Chain Network Design Optimization tool/ Llamasoft.

As a newly created position, the position is essential to be dynamic to perform additional responsibilities as assigned within GLO organization

Network Solutions

  • Project lead of supply chain network design optimization projects
  • Project management
  • Workshops

Solutions proposal

  • Work with business partners to develop logistics optimization portfolio for global logistics and distribution network
  • Propose logistics optimization opportunities using Llamasoft - Supply Chain Guru/ Data
  • Develop project implementation plan and milestone, address issues during implementation
  • Establish optimization project value and track actual cost saving after project deployment
  • Deploy best practice of network solutions, and improve capabilities of service offering

Logistics Tools - Transportation Management System (TMS) / GT Nexus

  • Leverage on logistics tools capabilities to drive transportation and warehousing projects to optimize the logistics networks for assigned business / region
  • Develop capabilities of logistics tools/ TMS to provide reporting and data intelligence that enables logistics optimization projects
  • Improve data quality of visibility milestones, develop carrier performance and KPI reporting
  • Provide intelligence to support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities
  • Perform as power user Transportation Management System (TMS)/ GT Nexus
  • Support TMS implementation process for all businesses in the organization

GLO/ GSM / Business initiatives

  • Support initiatives of Global Logistics Organization (GLO), Global Supply Management (GSM) and business initiatives
  • Drive capability development of network solutions, logistics tools
  • Support development and implementation of other Logistics Control Tower (LCT) services
  • Support deployment of other LCT services such as Freight Bill Audit and Payment (FBAP)
  • Track LCT cost savings projects performance, GLO strategic action items and monthly executive reporting

Travel Requirements:

10%-20% Traveling

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Industrial Engineering/ Operations Research. MBA, Master's in Supply Chain preferred.

Required skills:

  • 3- 5 years of logistics or supply chain experience at regional/ global level
  • Proven project management capabilities at global or regional level
  • Proven experience in leading logistics optimization projects, network design and implementation
  • Experience in using supply chain network design tools eg. Llamasoft/ CAST/ CAPS.
  • Experience in using logistics systems to drive logistics improvements. Transportation Management System (TMS)/ GT nexus is preferred.
  • Good problem solving, analytical and presentation skills.
  • Project management capabilities to manage regional and global initiatives
  • Ability to develop and execute cost saving strategies
  • High proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Willing to work under pressure. Accept challenge and meet commitment and project deadline
  • Business maturity, acumen, flexibility and teamwork spirit
